Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion Temple) is the common nickname of
Rokuon-ji, a beautiful Zen temple in Kyoto.
Kinkaku-ji is situated at the foot of Kinugasa Hill and in the
north west of Kyoto, a short walk north from Hirano Shrine and
Waratenjin Shrine.

The expression 'to jump off the stage at Kiyomizu' is the Japanese
equivalent of the English expression 'to take the plunge'.
Kiyomizu-dera is one of the most famous temples in Kyoto and was
built at the end of the 8th century.
The main hall was constructed in the 17th century, and is famous
for its location overhanging a cliff.
Located halfway up Otowa Mountain in the eastern part of Kyoto
City.
